Learn how plastic bottle caps are injection molded and designed

The bottle cap is attached to the bottle neck and cooperates with the bottle neck to prevent the contents of the bottle from leaking and the invasion of external bacteria. Once the cap is tightened, the neck of the bottle digs deep into the cap and reaches the seal. The inner groove of the bottle neck is in close contact with the thread of the bottle cap, providing pressure for the sealing surface. The multiple sealing structure can effectively prevent the contents in the bottle from flowing, leaking or deteriorating. There are also many strip-shaped anti-slip grooves on the outer edge of the bottle cap to facilitate increasing friction when opening the cap.

Two processes for the production of plastic bottle caps:

1、Production process of molded bottle caps: Molded bottle caps have no traces of the material mouth, are more beautiful, have low processing temperature, low shrinkage, and more accurate bottle cap dimensions. The upper and lower grinding tools are clamped together and pressed into the mold to form the bottle cap. The bottle cap after compression molding stays in the upper mold, the lower mold is moved, the bottle cap passes through the turntable, and the bottle cap is taken out of the mold according to the internal thread counterclockwise.

2、Injection bottle cap production process The injection mold is large and difficult to replace. Injection molding requires greater pressure, produces multiple caps per mold, the material is heated to higher temperatures, and energy consumption is higher. Compression molding. Put the mixed material into the injection molding machine, heat the material to about 230 degrees Celsius in the machine to become a semi-plasticized state, inject it into the mold cavity through pressure, and then cool it for molding. After injection molding, the mold is turned upside down to allow the bottle cap to fall off. The cap cools and shrinks. The mold rotates counterclockwise, and the bottle cap is pushed out under the action of the push plate, causing the bottle cap to fall automatically. Using thread rotation to remove the mold can ensure the entire thread. One-time molding can effectively prevent bottle caps from deformation and scratches.

You will also notice that the cap also includes a tamper-evident ring section. Once the cap part is finished and the anti-theft ring is cut, a complete cap is produced. The anti-theft ring (ring) is a small circle under the bottle cap. Also known as single-break anti-theft ring. When the bottle cap is unscrewed, the anti-theft ring will fall off and remain on the bottle. Through this, you can tell whether the water bottle or beverage bottle is intact.
